Elvis coooooome!!!

So the pig went missing yesterday...i noticed because last night i came home from a friends and I went out to tuck him in for the night and his oatmeal was still in his bowl from the morning. I called to him for awhile, i yell "elvis come!!!" Usually he comes but his grunting could not be heard.  I felt so sorry for him out there in the cold somewhere that was not his stinky bed. The next morning my sis came over Rachel...we got some coffee and a baggy of muffins (coffee for us, muffins for elvis) and put on our boots and went walking. We yelled "elvis come!!!" up and down my driveway. I kept picturing his little body on the side of the road..i was getting worried.
See the problem with elvis is that he can't really find a place in this world. At first he thought he was a dog...he would try and sleep in their house, he quickly learned to sit for treats. He gets down low and runs around in circles, nipping and wagging his tail...Soon though his desire to be a dog was too strong. He started finding the dogs rather attractive. After a few weeks of taking on much humiliating aggressive pig "loving" attempts, my dog lost his temper and had to teach elvis a lesson. My dog hurt elvis and his ego...it's hard to be so harshly rejected. Elvis ran out to the cow field after his first dog fight and started to huddle with the cows.   I saw him out there often rooting through the hay with the cows, smacking away. He also played with the calves and ran in circles wagging his tail...we would wake up in the morning and look out onto the dew covered field and see Elvis running at full speed across meadow, chasing full grown cows around. We got a pretty good laughing out of it, we never saw a pig run that fast before.   Soon the cows got fed up with the pig too, he was getting too comfortable. During the rainy days he was trying real hard to get in some warmth under the tree with the herd...but they started charging at him and running him off.  It seems that he just cant figure out how to be a pig.
So back to today's events.  Rachel and i walked all over the property, we went around the creek, we called over fences and checked the neighbors yards.  We even drove and asked a few people if they had seen a small pig named Elvis. I think each and every neighbor said "a pig?!" and i said yes a pig named elvis and they would laugh....i kept thinking "these are all country folk, its not that funny that my pig is running around somewhere! why do they keep laughing at me?"
I posted a quick little add on craigslist, saying he would come to "Elvis come!" and that he loves donuts and anything sweet.  Then i got a call from the landlord saying the neighbor found a pig over trying to get comfy with their bull that they had separated from the rest. This country man comes over the hill with a young boy on the back of his quad, i can hear the pig before i spot him though. He is a bucking squealing muscle that this kid is holding with both arms.  Both the men were smiling at Rachel and I...he was just standing there smiling while elvis was jolting and screeching and we did a high five. They put him in the backseat and told me that they thought the bull might have broken his leg and that Elvis was really scared...poor elvis...he got out of the car and limped straight to his bed. He fell over on his wool blanky and has not gotten up for the last 8 hours.  I went to work right after i got him back...i called and checked on him. I made jordan make him soup in case he was feeling bad but he didn't eat it...i brought him home a muffin top from work but he just turned his head away from me.  Poor little boy. Jordan wont let me bring him in the house, i do think it will help him feel better...what do you think?
The nice thing about him being so sick right now is that he lets me pet him...so im giving him lots of love...and laid blankets over him and gave him a little ibprofen...just a little! we will take him to the vet if he doesn't get back to normal...we need our leftover eater back! I said a little prayer for him before bed tonight...and this week he gets a collar and name tag!
Can you believe i just wrote a whole blog about Elvis?  Well i can, welcome to my life.

This is elvis on the ride home...he is rejecting the muffin
